LAUNCHED: Our Employer Skills Survey, the largest of its kind on the world, gives a comprehensive and robust picture of skills needs and training investment in UK business.

The UK Commission for Employment and Skills is a publicly funded, industry-led organisation providing strategic leadership on skills and employment issues in the four home nations of the UK.

Together, our Commissioners comprise a social partnership that includes CEOs of large and small employers across a wide range of sectors, trade unions and representatives from the Devolved Administrations.

Our mission is to work with and through our partners to secure a greater commitment to invest in the skills of people to drive enterprise, jobs and growth.

Commissioner Insights

To achieve real impact, we believe that the skills agenda must be employer rather than government owned. Led by our 27 Commissioners, we work with partners across the UK to achieve our goals.  Our unique perspective comes from the breadth and depth of experience and insight of our Commissioners.

Investing in skills

We help businesses reach their growth potential by co-investing with employers in skills solutions that have real impact on jobs and growth. We believe that solutions that are employer-owned are most likely to succeed, unlocking greater value and opportunity for growth. To date we have co-invested over £600 million with employers to drive enterprise, create more and better jobs and boost economic growth.
