Partnership Working
There are a range of partners already working within and across the employment and skills arena. It is essential that research and policy analysis conducted by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills adds value, is pertinent to policy development, avoids duplication and builds on the existing evidence base.
We are therefore strongly committed to partnership working, both within the UK and drawing on experience and expertise internationally too. We will fully participate as members of major national bodies; have regular access to the academic research community through our Expert Panel and work to effectively disseminate our findings to inform research partners, policy makers, practitioners and employers.
We are committed to working with partners across the UK to develop an authoritative evidence base, to pool expertise and to maximise the influence of research and labour market intelligence over policy and practice. We have strong links with researchers, policy makers and practitioners in key government departments and agencies and amongst the wider research community.
We have engaged the services of a Panel of Experts to act as independent critical friends and to support the Research and Policy Directorate's work. The Panel consists of academics from across the UK, each of them recognised nationally and internationally for their experience and knowledge of employment and skills systems in the UK and abroad.
We have established an advisory group of policy experts to support the policy analysis work of the Directorate. The Group consists of UK and international policy professionals with experience and knowledge of employment, skills, social justice and productivity issues. The Group will support the UK Commission by sharing and exchanging knowledge and expertise, providing insight and foresight to inform future activities and challenging our research and policy analysis work.
