Impact of Higher Education on part-time students

This project compares the labour market experiences of higher education graduates who studied on a full-time and part-time basis.

Experts believe that more people will choose to study for degrees (and equivalent level qualifications) on a part-time basis in the future.  However, little research has been undertaken to assess the impact of part-time undergraduate study on an individual's labour market experiences.

The aim of the study was to compare the labour market experiences of graduates who studied on a full-time and part-time basis.  The study predominately focuses on graduates' employment status and earnings both 6 months and 42 months after graduating.

The study involved secondary analysis of data collected by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) through their Longitudinal Destination of Leavers from Higher Education (Longitudinal DLHE) survey.
