Improve: Benchmark

improveImprove will develop a sector specific tool which will enable food and drink companies to benchmark their performance against their counterparts on a number of business measures and identify key areas for improvement. The tool will be based on customisation and extension of the DTI Benchmarking Index.

Return on Investment

  • A £7m increase in GVA across all businesses taking part in the pilot project measured 12 months after benchmarking is completed, projected to be £59m by 2018 following full roll-out. 
  • 100 businesses supported to complete the benchmarking process during the project period.
  • £350,000 focused skills investment by businesses involved in the pilot project.
  • Additional Investors in People referrals.
