Improve: Tasty Jobs

improveThe Improve project ‘Tasty Jobs’ represents work with employers, relevant government organisations and the agency labour providers who are critical to providing skilled labour to the sector to identify and address the policy and procedural barriers which prevent an unemployed person securing a long-term employment opportunity with an employer in their local community.

Return on Investment

  • 600 unemployed individuals given the opportunity to undertake a highly specific pre-employment programme to ensure they are industry ready, with at least 350 progressing to employment and further training.
  • Best Practice Guidance and case studies to assist future recruitment of unemployed people in the sector.
  • A better functioning labour market for the sector, with less reliance on temporary and agency staff, gaining the cost benefits of reduced employee churn and the productivity benefits of skilled staff who are capable of progression within their organisations.
  • Increase in the level of UK nationals employed in the sector from 75% to 78% by 2018.
