Creative & Cultural Skills: Academies in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
The investment is to set up National Skills Academies in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland with their primary focus being the delivery of: Apprenticeships; continuing professional development (CPD) provision; and careers information, advice and guidance (IAG).
The networks will operate across the creative and cultural industries, and will work on a fee-paying membership model already developed and tested through the National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural in England. Each Skills Academy will promote a variety of products and services including an Apprenticeship training service, CPD, and online and face-to-face business support. There will also be a comprehensive careers IAG service both online and through live events.
Return on Investment
- Over 450 apprenticeship places tailored to individual business and national needs, building on our success with pilot apprenticeship models in the nations.
- A joined-up CPD structure, linking employers and trade associations with training providers to deliver training suited to the needs of business in innovative ways. These relationships and new services form the core legacy of this project.
- A trusted providers’ delivery network for online and face-to-face information, advice and guidance across the Nations, with 8,500 young people attending careers events in the workplace over two years.
