This report presents the results of a telephone survey conducted in June 2004, which focused on mechanical engineering, vehicles and other engineering establishments in the Black Country, compared with those in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The purpose was to learn more about the skills and training needs of those employers and the extent to which these needs were being met by local FE colleges and training providers.
