Development of the Skills Passport for Health

nurseSkills for Health are developing a skills passport for the health sector.

The healthcare sector in the UK is under significant strain. Demand is expected to rise significantly and the sector faces immediate financial pressures. The sector needs to respond to new market conditions by developing new ways of working.

The Skills Passport for Health is an innovative solution that will reduce training costs, improve productivity and increase quality of services. David Foster, Deputy Chief Nursing Officer for England said “The Skills Passport for Health is a fantastic innovation.”

There is clear sector support to initiate a health sector-wide skills passport and the project has already passed the initial proving stages, which has engendered widespread employer support.
