Cogent: Life Sciences

cogentThis project will provide a skills infrastructure to support a home grown talent pipeline for the UK Life Sciences sector. The investment will market test and stimulate employer investment in UK skills by developing four employer led and employer supported propositions.

Return on Investment

  • Delivery of four market led propositions on skills signals, placements, kite marking and apprenticeships
  • Development of a Skills Gateway e-platform, offering a placements brokerage and a career pathway mapped to employers’ needs
  • Delivery of a Bio Horizons series of labour market reports and a forward vision of skills capacity and capability for the next 10 years
  • Increasing the number of staff trained and average annual training budgets by 10%, narrowing the skills gap and doubling the number of academic and industry collaborations by 2017
