Asset Skills: Talent Management


Woman cleaningThis project will develop and pilot talent management models with employers. The proposal will implement a programme of business to business mentoring and support across the sector.

To enable employers to learn from organisations outside their industries. This project will deliver a programme comprising leader-to-leader coaching and will establish a network for leaders undertaking large scale change through the implementation of a talent management programme.

Return on Investment

  • Talent management strategies and documentation developed in partnership with 50 employers disseminated to 40,000 organisations
  • Network wide promotion targeting the creation of 30 high performance workplaces – expected to lead to a 10% increase in the number of organisations participating in Talent management
  • 100 talented individuals attracted to the sector through raising profile and promotion of visible pathways to high achieving roles – reducing recruitment costs
  • Brokerage service for employees facing redundancy aimed at reducing the loss to the sector of skilled staff
  • Talent management best practice guide including leader to leader coaching models

Analysis of 5 projects carried out by Baker Tilley in 2011 identified a total social return on investment of £58.6 million . Applying the same methodology to this project would equate to a long term return on investment in the order of £5 million
