Anglia Farmers – EDGE (Educate, Develop, Grow and Employ) Apprentices in Food & Farming
The project will work with existing collaborative business structures to address the shortage of trained employees available to the industry.
It will engage a large group of employers to design industry relevant provision, increase recruitment of young people and generate employment.
Through using the established reputation and trust relationship agricultural co-operatives have within the industry, the project will create attractive career paths to increase the recruitment of young people into the sector, provide them with industry relevant training and ensure they move seamlessly into high quality employment.
The project will benefit employers by improving the supply of trained young people to enable the industry to grow more rapidly to meet increased global demand for its products.
