A partnership between the National Skills Academy for IT, training provider, NITP, and BT has created 135 apprenticeships, to add to the 300 already successfully underway since October 2012. The partnership has received co-investment from the UK Commission for Employment and Skills via the Growth and Innovation Fund.

A new industry-backed course to prepare young people for apprenticeships in IT has been launched by e-skills UK and Newcastle College, with co-investment from the Employer Investment Fund. Local employers including Accenture, Fluid Pixel, HP, Ubisoft and many small firms in Sunderland Software City have collaborated on this new route into technology careers.

Prudential hosted a breakfast event on the 18 July to talk about their involvement in BiTC’s ‘Business Class’ programme and encourage other employers to get involved. Britain’s employees are feeling more insecure and pressured at work than at any time in the past 20 years, national survey results published today (Monday, 20 May) show. The findings are based on face-to-face interviews with 3,000 workers aged 20 to 60.
